The Russian Geographical Society was founded on August 6 (18), 1845, almost 200 years ago, and is one of the oldest geographical societies in the world. The society has more than 23,700 members in Russia and abroad, they all have various professions, but every single member is passionate about the geography and nature of Russia, expeditions, travel and new discoveries.
Regional branches of the Russian Geographical Society are located in all 85 subjects of the Russian Federation, including the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. And today I have become one of their members, which I am very proud of!
Did you know that the Russian Geographical Society is not only engaged in geography, but also actively works to study and protect rare animals and birds?
Today I was invited to participate in the ethnographic expedition "Treasure of the Mountains", a project of the RGS Youth Club "Altair".
Many thanks to Tengiz Mokaev and his young students from different branches of the Russian Geographical Society for the excursion, for interesting communication and congratulations on the day when I got the membership card!
This day will stay in my memories for a lifetime!
